What is Braille.tools?

Braille.tools is a web-based braille translation platform that converts English text to Unicode braille and back using UEB Grade 1 and Grade 2 rules.

Braille.tools uses Liblouis 3.2.0 for all UEB translation. This ensures consistency with other Liblouis-based tools and compatibility with established braille standards.

For image recognition, Braille.tools uses AI-powered dot detection that identifies braille cells from photographs and scanned images. Results are editable for manual correction.
