Why braille back-translation needs context

One braille cell can mean a letter, punctuation mark, number or contraction depending on its position and the selected braille code.

What does back-translation mean?

Back-translation is the process of converting braille cells back into print text using the rules of a chosen braille code.

Why can the same braille produce different text?

Braille meaning depends on language, grade and context. A contraction in English UEB may not have the same meaning in another code.

Can this decode Braille ASCII or BRF?

Yes. Unicode braille can be pasted into the translator, and Braille Ready Format files can be uploaded in the Document workspace for UEB back-translation.
